A great number misunderstandings surround Freemasonry - frequently pejorative allegations of an old boy network, or even more heinous hints. Still, in reality Freemasonry is an edifying movement promoting self-improvement and helping other people. As a brotherhood, Freemasonry provides an opportunity for men to congregate and partake in genial companionship. Improving oneself is a primary aspect of freemasonry. Freemasonry advances aiding others also, and giving to others is a real means in which members serve people.
One of Freemasonry’s rules is not to solicit members. Yet, anyone should feel uninhibited to communicate with any Mason to find out more information regarding the Craft.
Membership is for males only, over 18 years of age, and you should match the qualifications of character and reputation, should be considered having strong moral character.
A male who wishes to join a lodge must be recommended by 3 Masons of the lodge he desires to become a member in. He has to realize that his character and reputation will be looked into. Following commendation by the Masons, he will then be recognized as an applicant for membership in Freemasonry.
Masons frequently assume accessories such as Union Jack badges that subtly advertise their member status to other members and also pass on the lodge they belong to.
