Show ‘Em Hold ‘Em
A standard poker rule common to all casinos and online poker room is “One player per hand.” What that means is that each player has to make their own individual decision on how to play a hand. It is not acceptable to show your hand to anyone - even a player out of the action — especially while the hand is still active.
It is not uncommon though for Everest players who are friends to show each other their cards, despite the rule. For instance, a player is in a hand and has a tough call to make with an open-ended straight draw. That player nudges a pal sitting next to him, and says, “Look at this” or “What do I do now?”
This type of behavior in a poker game is completely unacceptable. By doing this, a player is giving confidential information to another player who gains insight into the other player’s strategies and style of play. It is unfair to the other players who don’t see the cards.
That is why when a player sometime flashes cards to another when laying down a hand, you will hear someone say, “Show one, show all.” And the dealer will then instruct the player who flashed cards to show the entire table.
Showing your cards to another a player while the action is still live could cause this rule to be invoked at the end of the hand, and you may have to show your hand to the entire table if you showed it to anyone else during the action.
Don’t show your cards to anyone else until showdown.
